Voices & Editorials

Title graphic for the Voices & Editorials section of Father & Co., featuring bold text on a textured background.

The opinion and commentary section of Father & Co.

Where lived experience meets advocacy.

Father & Co. was built on a simple truth:
the people closest to the system understand it best.
The parents, children, survivors, and frontline professionals who live inside America’s family courts every day have insights that rarely reach the public—and almost never make it into traditional media.

This section exists to change that.

Voices & Editorials is where we analyze the system, challenge failed assumptions, and give space to the stories and perspectives that institutions would rather ignore. It blends personal narrative, policy critique, and first-hand insight into a single, clear mission:

Expose the failures.
Elevate the solutions.
Defend the families caught in between.

What You’ll Find Here

Editorials

Original commentary written by Father & Co. founder Michael Phillips.
These essays examine:

  • systemic failures in family court
  • the erosion of parental rights
  • the intersection of trauma, disability, and justice
  • policy proposals and reforms
  • the cultural narratives that shape how America treats fathers

Each editorial is grounded in research, lived experience, and the collective stories of the families we stand with.

Voices: Guest Perspectives

A curated collection of essays written by parents, advocates, professionals, and survivors.
These pieces offer:

  • personal insights
  • reform ideas
  • on-the-ground experiences
  • reflections on healing, resilience, and rebuilding

All submissions are carefully vetted for accuracy, ethics, and safety.
We welcome diverse perspectives—so long as they stay focused on solutions, integrity, and the well-being of families.

Letters to the Editor

Short messages, questions, and reflections from our readers.

Selected letters receive a written response from Father & Co., helping shape future coverage, investigations, and community conversations.

This is one of the few places in the family-advocacy world where parents’ voices are invited into the discussion—not filtered out of it.

Our Purpose

Unlike traditional news outlets, Father & Co. isn’t neutral about one thing:
the value of family.

We believe:

  • parents deserve due process
  • children deserve stability and safety
  • courts must be held accountable
  • the public deserves the truth
  • and survivors deserve to be heard, not silenced

The Voices & Editorials section advances that purpose by bringing clarity, perspective, and necessary discomfort to a system that too often operates behind closed doors.

Submit Your Story or Opinion

We accept:

  • guest essays
  • informed commentary
  • personal reflections
  • letters to the editor

You do not need to be a writer.
You only need honesty, clarity, and a commitment to telling the truth responsibly.
